In the wake of Brexit and the uncertainty that surrounds the future of EU vets in Britain, the RCVS has sought fit to look to India to ‘future proof’ veterinary recruitment in the UK. Recent visits by members of the RCVS council to forge closer links with Indian vet schools have met with a mixed response. Why India? Many of our medics are Indian, so it seems a logical place to go. But vastly different provisions of small animal services, and a vastly different agriculture system mean there are not as many parallels for vets trained in India as medics. Is this a good use of RCVS time and money? What’s your view?
